My wife and I are finding out the gender of our baby on Monday!
We are having a gender reveal party for our families on September 4 (the Sunday of Labor Day weekend).
Here’s how we are going to do the reveal: My wife and I are going to find out at the appointment, but we’ll be the only ones. We are then going to get the appropriate colored balloons (blue or pink) and fill the trunk of my car with them. Then, my wife is going to make and tie a giant half-blue and half-pink ribbon around the car. While everyone watches, I’ll pop the trunk and the balloons will all float out.
We’re also putting a little shirt on our first kid (our 8-year-old Jackabee named “Ginger”) that says “Sister or brother? What’s in my mother?”
Sorry for the corny post. We are just excited. And I am glad my wife let me incorporate cars into both the baby announcement and the gender reveal.

Make sure you tie something off on the balloons so you don’t pollute by letting them out and about. Congrats on number 2.
I’ll say girl.

We have three boys (a singleton and twins), and we didn’t find out for any of them. We figured since they were all delivered by scheduled C-section, we wanted to have at least a little bit of a surprise, since we wouldn’t have that “Honey, it’s time!” moment. We knew they were all boys, though. We could just tell somehow.
Congratulations! Your life is about to get a whole lot more interesting.

My wife and I didn’t find out either. It was the best surprise I’ve ever gotten in my life. If we ever have kids again, even though the wait is tough, we’d totally do it that way again.

The only difficulty, particularly with the twins, was coming up with two boy names and two girl names. But we didn’t put a whole lot of effort into the girl names. We just knew.

It will be a girl. and she will have you wrapped around her little finger from the word “go”.

Awesome, at least you are finding out first.. People we know had a baby reveal party where the results go to the baker and they make a cake coloured blue or pink, then puts white icing over it.. they cut it open in front of family and friends to reveal..
Except that the guy really really wanted a boy and the cake was pink.. he actually left the party he was so upset.. so awkward.
Your’s sounds good though - any way to incorporate fireworks?
Ours were emerg C and planned C - didn’t know for either - I found out when the nurse came to get me for our son and when I cut the cord for our daughter.

She probably won’t even need a word

Man, my wife doesn’t want to find out this time. I think I’m going to go with her direction and not find out either.
THIS IS GOING TO BE SO HARD

Fill your trunk with doves, the gender will be on a note attached to the leg of one of the birds. Hand out shotguns just before releasing the birds.
The person who finds the gender gets to reveal it!

I once saw a gender reveal in which the couple put tires on the wife’s Mk4 Supra that would emit pink or blue smoke during a burnout. I’ll see if I can find the video.
